Welcome to Women Making Strides. I’m Susan Ekins, a writer of poems, short fiction, and feature articles, which have been published in several magazines. I have also contributed to three books: Stranded, #Sisterhood Connection: A Year of Empowerment, and Masks, Facades, and Reveals. My hobbies include walking and running, and I am currently writing a mystery novel. I am also the librarian at my church.

I am an award-winning blogger, who writes to inspire both my readers and myself. My goal for this blog is to empower women to be leaders in their own lives. We must be proactive in taking care of ourselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. Taking care of ourselves empowers us to handle challenges and to be our best selves. The Women Making Strides mission is:

A woman who makes strides appreciates being alive and takes active steps to care for her body, mind, and spirit. She accepts challenges along her path and uses her God-given talents to better the world.”

This blog shares my efforts and efforts by others to work towards this mission. I encourage you to join in the conversation. Please reflect on each post and share your thoughts. I would appreciate you sharing the posts. Everyone is welcome to join us, regardless of gender.

Join me in this journey by following my blog and by connecting on social media.
